Marilyn G. Julius

MARILYN GAIL (JESS) JULIUS was born on May 23, 1944 to Vernon and Ione (Severtson) Jess in Pipestone, Minnesota. Marilyn grew up in Pipestone and attended school there, graduating from the Pipestone High School in 1962. Later that same year, Marilyn married Kenny Julius at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. The young couple was blessed with two children. In 1978, the couple separated. Marilyn continued to live in Pipestone. She first worked for the Pipestone Elevator for fifteen years before finding a new position as a nurse’s aide at the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone. Marilyn continued to work at the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone for the next sixteen years. She retired from working in 2009. Marilyn continued to live in her home. Due to her declining health, Marilyn was moved to the Pipestone County Hospice House. She died there peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the age of 74 years, 11 months, and 22 days.

During her down-time, Marilyn enjoyed outdoor activities such as camping and spending time in the sun. She had a great love in bowling, card playing, and just having fun in general.

She is lovingly remembered by her two children, Robyn Vos of Magnolia, Minnesota, and Ryan (Kimberly) of North Mankato, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Brian (Amanda) Lopau, Bobbie (Brian) Lensing, and Charlie Vos; eight great-grandchildren, Kordell, Jacob, and Jaden Lopau, Carson, Bentley, Samuel, Sawyer, and Camden Lensing; siblings, Charles (Ann) Jess of Steen, Minnesota and Linda (Roger) Kulla of Marshall, Minnesota; and many loving friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ronnie Hasch and Sandra Nord; her beloved niece, Jill Hasch; and her parents, Vernon and Ione Jess.
