With his family by his side, Marvin William Lammert was called home by his loving Lord and Savior. He lost his courageous battle to cancer March 5, 2013, having attained 76 years of age. Marvin and his twin sister Marilyn were born February 2, 1937 to Clarence and Viola Lammert. He was baptized, confirmed and married in the Lutheran faith. He had been a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne, Minnesota. Marvin attended Luverne High School. Soon afterward, he developed and became quite talented in fiberglassing while working in management at Pipestone Manufacturing in Pipestone, Minnesota. Later on, Marvin owned and operated Marvcraft Fiberglass Co. in Luverne. There he continued to hone his craft, manufacturing numerous products for companies and individuals. Some of Marvin’s work remains in and around the community today.
Marvin served our country as a National Guardsman. He was also a member of the Luverne Lions Club, Jaycees, Eagle's Club, a retired veteran of the Luverne Fire Department, and served as a trustee at Grace Lutheran Church.
In his younger years, Marvin was an accomplished motorcycle racer. He and wife LaJean, along with family and friends, enjoyed many summer vacations traversing the United States on their Harley Davidson.
After retiring, Marvin was a car runner for Papik Motors, Herman Motors, and Midwest Fire in Luverne, Minnesota.
In addition to Marvin and LaJean’s four children, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the “apple of his eye”. He often commented how blessed he was to have the opportunity to share priceless memories with each of them. LaJean and his family were a gift from God and each one continually brought “LOVE” and “JOY” to his heart.
Leaving behind to celebrate his life in Christ is his wife of many years, LaJean; their four children and spouses, Mike and Paula Lammert, Scott and Pam Schneekloth, all of Luverne, Mark and Debra Hopkins of Logan, Iowa and Eldon and Becky Kruger of Magnolia, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; a twin sister, Marilyn Galvin and brother, Duane and his wife Peg Lammert, all of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother, David.
