MARY LOUISE (MOSLEY) KEERS was born to Walter C. and Ethel Rockwood (Whitney) Mosley on March 9, 1929 in Pipestone, Minnesota where she was raised and attended school. While she was in high school, she worked part-time at the REA office. After her graduation from Pipestone High School in 1947, she became employed at Pipestone National Bank. On May 15, 1949, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Beck. Following their marriage, they lived in Pipestone and Mary continued to work at the bank. On May 25, 1985, she was united in marriage to Jack Keers at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. Following their marriage, they lived in Pipestone. Mary worked at the bank until her retirement on April 1, 1991. Jack preceded her in death on April 1, 2008. After his death, Mary continued to live at their home in Pipestone until July, 2015 when she became a resident of Ridgeview Estates in Pipestone. Mary passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Pipestone County Hospital at the age of 89 years, three months, and 11 days.
Mary was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone where she served as church treasurer. She was also active in the church circle and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She served as treasurer of the Zone LWML and she was the treasurer of the Pipestone branch of the AAL for 15 years. She was the chairman of the American Cancer Society Crusade for three years. She enjoyed her church activities, knitting and traveling. She especially enjoyed gardening and exhibiting her flowers at the fair. She was named the Grand Champion at both the Rock and Pipestone County fairs and the Best of Show at the Pipestone County fair for her roses.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Sherri Osland of Sunfish Lake, Minnesota; her daughter-in-law, Peg Beck of Appleton, Wisconsin; her five stepdaughters, Corliss Kazemba of West Bend, Wisconsin, Debbie Buck of West Bend, Wisconsin, Peggy (Tom) Pfaff of Decatur, Alabama, Cindy (Joe) Fuhrman of Austin, Minnesota, and Sandy Keers of Fairbault, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Michelle (Todd) Canfield, Melissa (Chris) Hansen, Mari (Eric) Kessenich, Jenna Beck (Giles Dalrymple), Taylor Osland (Josh Ripley), and Logan Osland; ten step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her two sons, Gary and Terry Beck; her parents, Walter and Ethel Mosley; two brothers, Wendell and Kenneth Mosley; and two sisters, Doris Shackelford and Roberta St. Aubin.
