Mary Lynn Kraayenhof was born the youngest daughter of a family with eight children on November 4, 1956 to Gerrit Edward and Johanna Mathilda (Medema) Kraayenhof at home in rural Woodstock, Minnesota. Mary’s family lived in Hull, Iowa and eventually settled in Luverne, Minnesota where she graduated from Luverne High School in 1975. Mary was employed as a nanny and as a nurses aide. She worked at a nursing home, fast food places, and at Econolodge.
Mary was a member of New Life Celebration Church in Luverne. She also had attended American Reformed Church and Steen Reformed Church. Mary enjoyed genealogy and family history research, reading, and spending time with her dog, Precious. She loved her dogs. She loved children and especially her nieces and nephews. She also developed a love of history and reading, and enjoyed doing a variety of crafts.
Mary is survived by her six siblings, Dennis (Jo) Kraayenhof of Wells, Minnesota, Helen Kraayenhof of Hills, Minnesota, Joyce (Dale) Helmke of Kandiyohi, Minnesota, Glenda Kuehl of Beaver Creek, Minnesota, Doug (Nancy) Kraayenhof of Hills, and Brian (Darla) Kraayenhof of Hills; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mathilda Kraayenhof; and brother, Ed “Allen” Kraayenhof.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at the Eastside Cemetery in Steen, Minnesota.
