Maxine Lange

MAXINE SHIRLEY LANGE was born to Levi and Helen (Schmidt) Johnson on March 15, 1929 in Murray County, Minnesota where she was raised. She moved with her family to Pipestone, Minnesota where she attended high school. After graduation from Pipestone High School in 1947, she became employed at Pan-O-Gold Bakery in Pipestone. In 1948, she began working for National Farm Loan Association. On May 8, 1949, she was united in marriage to Wayne Lange in Pipestone. Following their marriage, they resided in Pipestone where they ran the Pipestone Taxi Service. After their retirement in 1992, they moved to Belle Vista, Arkansas. For several years, they also delivered RV's from factories to dealerships for a company based out of Indiana. In October of 2010, they moved to Pipestone until March of 2013 when they moved into the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone, where Maxine resided until her death on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Pipestone County Medical Center.

She was a member of Bella Vista Lutheran Church in Arkansas. While living in Pipestone, she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was active in the WGA Circles and held President and Secretary offices more than once. She was also a member of the Hiawatha Club for over 25 years and the American Legion Auxiliary since 1955 where she was president for three terms and held many other offices.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Wayne Lange of Pipestone, Minnesota; five children, Dennis and his wife Connie Lange of Pipestone, Minnesota, Gary Lange of Muscatine, Iowa, Ross Lange of Pipestone, Minnesota and Mary Kay and her husband Jon Delaney of Pipestone, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marlys, Mrs. Melvin Haack of Maple Grove, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her son, Alan and her parents.
