Michael Dahl

MICHAEL ALLEN DAHL was born July 19, 1954 to Jerome and Barb (Holmes) Dahl in Tyler, Minnesota. He attended school in Tyler, graduating from Tyler High School in 1972. In 1975 he worked for Chicago Northwestern Railroad, after which he began a 42-year career as a truck driver, most recently driving for Anderson Trucking of Brandon, South Dakota. On May 30, 2007 Mike married Diane Hagberg in San Francisco, California. On May 30 of this year, Mike and Diane celebrated their 11 years together with a renewal of their vows. Mike and Diane enjoyed many trucking trips across the country—Mike drove and Diane assisted with the navigating and bookkeeping. Mike was diagnosed with liver cancer on December 27, 2017. He passed away on his 64th birthday, July 19, 2018, at Avera Tyler Hospital in Tyler, Minnesota.

Mike was a member of Tyler Alliance Church. He enjoyed playing pool, demolition derbies, fishing, playing with his kids and grandkids, seeing the country, and watching people. He had great fun with his wife in San Francisco, in the ocean and on the trolley cars.

Mike is lovingly remembered by his wife, Diane; his children, Ashley Dahl of Little Falls, MN, Brittany Dahl of Little Falls, MN, Casey Dahl of Little Falls, MN, and Mikey Dahl of Minneapolis, MN; three grandchildren, Brayden Mead, Layla Dumler, and Parker Dumler; his mother, Barb Dahl of Tyler, MN; a brother, Bruce (Barb) Dahl of Tyler, MN; a sister, Susan Rutledge of Lewistown, MT; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome Dahl; a brother, Jerry Dahl; his grandparents, Grace and Chris Dahl and Art and Tiny Holmes; an uncle, Elsworth Holmes; two aunts, Grace Dahlin and Marylon Robertson; sister-in-law, Gail Marie Dahl; and his niece and godchild, Jessica Williams.
