Mike Kinsinger was born the ninth of ten children to George and Ruby (Handley) Kinsinger on April 12, 1955 on Johnson Air Force Base in Irumagawa, Japan. He lived with his family and attended school in many locations across the US and abroad, including Detroit, Michigan, Japan, and Rapid City, South Dakota. On July 22, 1977 he was united in marriage to Sharon Schomacker in Kenneth, Minnesota. They made their home in Luverne, Minnesota where their union was blessed with two children, Shawn and Adam. The couple divorced in 2007. Throughout the years, Mike was employed at Walnut Grove Feeds, Luverne Fire and Apparatus, Southwestern Youth Services, and currently drove bus for the Luverne School District. On January 11, 2011, he passed away at his home at the age of 55 years, 8 months and 29 days.
He was an active member of New Life Celebration Church in Luverne. He had a passion for music and enjoyed playing drums with his band 'Not Exactly'. He also enjoyed driving school bus to various events and interacting with the kids. Above all, he had a love of family, especially for his grandkids.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Shawn Kinsinger and his wife Teresa of Luverne, and Adam Kinsinger and his wife Jan of Luverne; four grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, Brianna, and Andrew; eight siblings, Donna (Carl) Kalberer of Asheville, North Carolina, Paulette (Chuck) Eickhoff of Rapid City, South Dakota, Linda (Bob) Smith of Colorado Springs, Colorado, David (Ruth) Kinsinger of Marietta, Florida, Laura (John) Wall of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Sandy (Carson) Clapp of Luttrell, Tennessee, and Kathy Kinsinger of Guthrie, Kentucky; a brother-in-law, Walter Duncan of Clarksville, Tennessee; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Brian; a sister, Jackie Duncan; and a nephew, Jeshua Smith.
