MOLLY JO EINCK was born on February 13, 2017 to Michael and Melissa (Weidert) Einck in Ann Arbor, Michigan. From day one, Molly Jo was a miracle and an inspiration. At the age of four days, she had her first heart surgery. The little warrior battled through four more heart surgeries during her lifetime to try and cure a congenital heart defect (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome). Her family and health care team discovered early on that Molly Jo was strong and courageous. After her initial surgery in Michigan, Molly, along with her big sister, Mari, and their parents returned to their home in Wilmont, Minnesota, where she was raised.
Molly Jo quickly brought faith to the forefront in her family’s life and served as an inspiration to those that she came to know. Her big sister remembers how Molly and her enjoyed bath time and swinging together on the playset, singing karaoke, having dance parties, baking and licking the batter off the beaters (even though dad didn’t approve). Many giggles were shared. Mari loved giving Molly hugs and kisses and especially enjoyed their time snuggling with each other. Molly liked orange pop and was a huge fan of dipping pickles into French onion flavored dip. Recently, Molly was excited to be a big sister herself and loved visiting with her new sibling in her Mommy’s tummy. Molly was always a mommy’s girl and loved to be held by her. But the second her daddy came home, she ran to his arms.
In July, due to her ailing heart, Molly was put on a heart transplant list. Despite her CHD, Molly was rambunctious and always had a positive attitude. Often times when she would get a snack for herself, she would also make sure to get something for everyone that was around her. Time with her was the sweetest gift and her parents were so proud of their little warrior. She was so brave and looked out for others. Even before her most recent surgery, Molly Jo made sure to go around her room and say to each one of her family, “I love you!”
On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, Molly Jo was welcomed into Jesus’ arms while surrounded by her earthly family at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Molly Jo’s spirit will forever live in the hearts of her parents, Mike and Mel Einck; sister, Mari; sibling in Mommy’s tummy; maternal grandparents, Jim and Kris Weidert of Lismore, Minnesota; paternal grandparents, Ron and Janelle Einck of Iona, Minnesota; aunts, uncles and numerous cousins; maternal great-grandparents, Jerome and Mary Weidert of Lismore; paternal great-grandparents, Bess Lingen of Tyler, Minnesota; and other friends.
