NANCY JEAN BECKER was born on June 18, 1959, to Leo and Joan (Riley) Whittle in Watertown, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown and attended the Catholic school through grade six. Nancy then attended Watertown High School, graduating in 1977, and later earned her meat-cutting certificate through Pipestone Vo-Tech in 1986. Though she was born and raised in Watertown, she briefly lived in Seattle, Washington and Madison, South Dakota before making a permanent home in Pipestone, Minnesota. While receiving her education, she began her working career holding various caregiver positions and was a certified nursing assistant. She also served as a Girl Scout leader while her daughters were participating. However, her favorite job of all was helping to raise her grandchildren. Nancy became a resident of the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone where she died peacefully on December 19, 2021, at the age of 62 years, six months, and one day.
Nancy was currently a member of St. Leo Catholic Church in Pipestone. When she had the time, she enjoyed watching movies. Nancy will be remembered for her mischievous tendencies and endearing stubbornness. She had a gift for making those around her laugh.
Nancy is survived by her children, Sally Whittle, Billie Brock, and Josh (Bonnie) Becker, all of Pipestone; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Isabella, Collin, Abbie, Riley, Braydann, Emma, and Lucas; and siblings, Kevin Whittle of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Dan Whittle of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Roger (Twila) Whittle of Watertown. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Joan.
