NINA MAE EERNISSE was born January 5, 1932 to Dick and Sarah (Nicloy) Buss near Steen, Minnesota. She attended country school near Steen. On October 9, 1958, Nina was united in marriage to Alvin Joe Eernisse at the Bethel Reformed Church in Leota, Minnesota. After marrying the couple made their home on a farm near Rock Rapids, Iowa for one year before moving near Kanaranzi, Minnesota. Over the years they lived on the various farms where Alvin worked. Those farms were near Magnolia, Rushmore, and Hardwick before they moved into Luverne, Minnesota in 1968. Alvin died on January 23, 2002. Nina continued to reside at their home. On Tuesday, August 23, 2016 Nina died peacefully at the Good Samaritan Society – Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne at the age of 84 years, seven months and 18 days.
Nina was baptized and confirmed on October 7, 1962 at the American Reformed Church in Luverne, Minnesota, where she was currently a member. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, playing cards and board games.
Nina is lovingly remembered by her brother, Paul Buss of Ash Creek, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Genevieve Eernisse of Luverne, Minnesota; nieces, nephews and other family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; parents, Dick and Sarah Buss; a brother, Richard Buss; a sister-in-law, Noma Buss; and a brother-in-law, Darvin Eernisse.
