NORMA ROSE THOMSON was born on January 2, 1933 to Clarence and Henrietta (Giese) Damman in Jasper, Minnesota where she was raised and received her education, graduating with the Jasper High School class of 1951. She lived in many locations throughout the country and moved back to the Minneapolis area in 1985. She held various positions in Media Relations working primarily in the newspaper industry, her favorite being the Tri-State Livestock Newspaper in Sturgis, South Dakota. In 2010, Norma moved to Robbinsdale where she lived until her death on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the age of 82 years.
After her retirement, Norma volunteered at the Senior Center (food shelf) and was a member of the N.E. Minneapolis Food Co-op. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family.
Norma is lovingly remembered by her children: Richard (Jackie) Thomson of Richfield, Minnesota and Helen (Lee) Kallunki of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandchildren: Gloria Rosch of Richfield, Minnesota and Robert Thomson of Richfield, Minnesota; and one sister, Joyce Henriksen of Gardiner, Montana. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Henrietta; one brother; Vince Damman and Andrew “Ed” Thomson, the father of Norma’s children.
