Norma Wing

NORMA HELEN WING was born on May 19, 1939, to Harold and Helen (Kelm) Priesz in Luverne, Minnesota. She was raised in rural Luverne and graduated from the local high school in 1957. Norma was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne. On her 23rd birthday, she was united in marriage to Bruce Wing at her family church as well. The couple made their home in Pipestone, Minnesota where they would continue to reside for the entirety of the years they were blessed to have shared. In the five years prior to her marriage, Norma worked as a telephone operator. She then returned home full-time to raise her family. On December 19, 2019, Norma passed away at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 80 years and seven months.

Norma was currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. She was active in her congregation by teaching Sunday School and assisting with communion set-up. For 30 wonderful years, she enjoyed square dancing and was a part of the Holly Hoppers Square Dance Club. She truly enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s band and sporting events. She loved riding on the fan bus for her daughter’s band trips. Some of her favorite memories were made on the annual family vacations, but Norma also loved her numerous trips with Bruce and their friends to Branson and enjoyed attending musical shows there. Her family will always appreciate the way she did her very best to put them first and showed her concern for the well-being and safety of her children and grandchildren.

Norma will be remembered by her husband Bruce of Pipestone; children, Marcia (Todd) Suda and Rhonda (Keith) Yochem, both of Pipestone; ten grandchildren, David, James (Gabi), Rachel (Ben) Týrást, Michael, Jonathan, Hermella, Anna, and Grace Suda, and Lauren and Sara Yochem; two great-grandchildren, Quinnley and Legacy Suda; and brother-in-law, David Newell. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Janet Newell.
