NORMAN E. BOOMGAARDEN was born on November 3, 1942 in Pipestone, Minnesota to Jacob and Viola (Arndt) Boomgaarden. He grew up in Pipestone and Trosky. Norm was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Trosky, Minnesota. Following his education, he held various jobs, including: Hanson Silo Company in Luverne, Minnesota, Campbell’s Soup Company in Worthington, Minnesota, Bayliner in Pipestone and Ellison Meat Company in Pipestone where he worked until the decline of his health in 2008. Norman died on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Pipestone County Medical Center in Pipestone; he lived to reach the age of 71 years, 7 months and 16 days.
Norman enjoyed auction sales and building and welding things. Norman was a collector and content with everything that he had. In his earlier years, Norman enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers.
He is survived by his brothers, Melvin (and Jenelle) Boomgaarden of Detriot Lakes, Minnesota, Kenneth (and Carol) Boomgaarden of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Jimmy (and Linda) of Chaska, Minnesota; nieces, nephews, and other family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Viola; a sister, Madeline Burch; and a brother, Martin Boomgaarden.
