PATRICIA "PAT" LOUISE DREESEN was born on March 23, 1953 in Wiggins, Colorado to Jim Perry and Margaret Thompson. Pat spent her senior year of high school in Garretson, South Dakota, graduating in 1972. She was united in marriage to James “Jim” Richard Dreesen on July 22, 1972 in Luverne, Minnesota. The couple made their first home on a farm in rural Beaver Creek, Minnesota. In 1984, they relocated to Dumas, Texas where she was employed at the Swift meat packing plant. Three years later they returned to Beaver Creek. In 1994, they moved to Jasper, Minnesota. Pat worked on the John Bowron hog farm and for Ellison Meats. On Friday, August 28, 2020, Pat died at the Good Samaritan Society in Pipestone, Minnesota at the age of 67 years, 5 months, and 5 days.
Pat was a member of the American Reformed Church in Luverne. She was a volunteer for Relay for Life and participated in fundraising for her grandson’s marching band. Pat enjoyed embroidering baby blankets, going on nature walks, taking pictures of nature and entering them in local fairs, singing, drawing, watching movies, and volunteering at school. Pat was the kind of person who said what she was thinking. She had a great sense of humor which was sarcastic at times. Her children remember her often saying the phrase, “Home again, home again, jiggity jig.” Her greatest joy came from spending every moment with her husband, Jim.
Pat will lovingly be remembered by her husband, Jim Dreesen of Jasper; children, Sheri (Doug) Baker of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and David (Nora) Dreesen of Fairfield, California; brothers, Rick, Tim, and Dan Perry; sisters, Lily Perry and Donna Perry; in-laws, Jack and Jeane Leslie of Luverne; three grandchildren, John Baker, Tiffany Dreesen, and Megan Dreesen; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Perry; mother, Margaret Thompson; grandmother, Jessi Haar; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dick and Dolores Dreesen; and grandmother-in-law, Tina Rust.
Memorials may be directed to Pat's daughter, Sheri Baker.
