Patricia Wilson

PATRICIA WILSON was born on March 21, 1930 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where she was raised by Fern and Oswald Hertsgaard. She received her education in Sioux Falls. After she graduated from Washington High School in 1948, she became employed at the Ellsworth State Bank in Ellsworth, Minnesota. In 1949, she moved to Pipestone, Minnesota where she worked as a receptionist for Drs. Williams and Balmer. On February 22, 1950, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Wilson in Sioux Falls. Following their marriage, they moved to a farm north of Pipestone. After her children were raised, Pat worked for The Shopper for a few years. In 1973, she began working for the Pipestone County Family Service Center. She continued to work there until her retirement in 1992. Kenneth preceded her in death on October 2, 1999. After his death, Pat continued to live in Pipestone. On Friday, July 8, 2011, she died at the Pipestone County Medical Center at the age of 81 years, three months and 17 days.
Pat was a member of Peace United Methodist Church in Pipestone where she taught Sunday School, served on various committees and belonged to the church circle. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star #51 and the Hiawatha Club. Since retiring, she thoroughly enjoyed traveling to various places and she enjoyed visiting her children.
She is lovingly remembered by her three sons, David Wilson and his wife Kate of St. Louis, Missouri, Douglas Wilson and his wife Carole of Northfield, Minnesota, and Thomas Wilson and his wife Cheryl of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren, Cyrie, Michael, Nicholas, Ryan, Kyle and Eric Wilson; and one sister, Judy Jayo of Sparks, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; and her parents.
