Paul Scott Galbraith was born on February 26th, 1965, to Raymond and Marion (Fiihr) Galbraith in Tyler, Minnesota, the eldest of six siblings. He was baptized at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lake Benton, Minnesota on May 12, 1965, and confirmed on May 8, 1980.
Growing up he enjoyed spending time and helping at his Grandma and Grandpa Fiihr's farm by Ward, South Dakota. Paul attended high school in Lake Benton where he enjoyed playing football. In his later years of high school, he worked with his dad at Schak Trucking in Tyler where his love of trucking was born. During this time, he also helped several local farmers hauling and repairing trucks. Paul branched out on his own working for Ray Sportel. He then bought his own Peterbilt and leased onto Bose Brother's Trucking, and then Falls Transportation, where got into heavy hauling. He then went onto working for Long Haul Trucking where he primarily pulled a step deck. After over 30 years of being behind the wheel, Paul decided to slow down a little to be home more and started hauling for Tiesler Trucking out of Fulda, Minnesota.
From the peach water tower in Georgia, a horse shoe tree in the middle of a California desert, the Blue Angels base in Maine, or the waterfalls of Washington, Paul was able to see so much of our beautiful country. He always had stories to share of his travels and further enjoyed getting to share those journeys with his son, Austin, taking him along in the summers.
When Paul was able to enjoy some time off to himself, he could often be found fixing things, going to tractor pulls and drive in movies, fishing and hunting, riding horses, or just enjoying the quiet serenity of nature.
Paul was diagnosed with cancer in August of 2024 bringing him to the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone, Minnesota where he passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the age of 59 years 7 months and 6 days.
Paul's extensive knowledge of trucks and his ability to give directions no matter where you were will be missed by many. He was a hardworking, devoted, and caring man that will live on in our hearts forever.
Paul is lovingly remembered by his son, Austin (Bailey) Galbraith; grandson, Stetson; siblings, Mark (Renae) Galbraith, Kimberly (Clarence) Couch, Jill Galbraith, Kirstin (Jason) Grooters and Jennifer Galbraith; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Marion Galbraith; grandparents, Lambert and Katherine Fiihr, and Fredrick and Emma Galbraith; uncles, Charles Galbraith and Lawrence Grayden; aunt, Marion Bennett; and several other loved ones.
