Phyllis Darlene Herschberger-Ligman
Phyllis was born in Hendricks, MN to Ernest & Hilda Herschberger on August 3, 1945. She was baptized & confirmed at Bethany Elim Lutheran Church and grew up with her older brother Philip on the farm in Ash Lake Township, just outside of Ivanhoe, MN. Phyllis participated in 4H and enjoyed going to county fairs. After graduating Ivanhoe High School, she went on to Winona State University and participated in cheerleading. After her time in college Phyllis went to work in the Veterans Administration Finance Department at Fort Snelling. There at work she met her future husband Roger Ligman. They married, built a house in Eagan, MN and had four children- Roger, Ryan, Kristi and Rebekah. Phyllis loved travelling, reading, Elvis Presley, Tom Selleck, the music group Alabama, her ’57 Chevy, and the family dog- Sir Thomas. She also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, was a member of the NRA and loved reading her Bible. She volunteered countless hours in the Sunday School Office at church and was always involved in a Bible study. Phyllis loved the Lord, may God bless her always.
Phyllis is survived by her children: Roger Ligman, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; Ryan Ligman & wife Cally of Winona, MN; Kristi Jean Madison & husband Mitchell of Richfield, MN; Rebekah Feist & husband Shawn of Midland, MI; grandchildren: Anika and Kellan Feist of Midland, MI; and Mari Jolene Ligman of Winona, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest & Hilda Herschberger; and her brother Phillip Herschberger.
