Ramona Marjean Seeman was born April 28, 1941 to Burdette and Beulah (Gass) Adkins in Pipestone, Minnesota. She was raised in Pipestone, Minnesota where she was baptized and confirmed at Peace Methodist Church in Pipestone. She graduated from Pipestone High School in 1959. During Ramona's senior year, she began working at Rural Electric Association in Pipestone where she cared for customers until 1961. On May 30, 1961, Ramona was united in marriage to Douglas Seeman at Peace United Methodist Church. The newlyweds lived in Jasper for a few years until settling onto the Seeman family farm south of town in 1965. Ramona worked as a farm wife and homemaker to their family. After the children were in school, she took a position as a journalist with the Jasper Journal where she worked with news content and proofreading.
Ramona was a member of Jasper United Methodist Church where she was a part of Pastor-Parish Relations and church council. She was an avid reader, enjoyed embroidery, visiting with friends and family, spending time outside, and playing cards - especially a game of pinochle.
Ramona is lovingly remembered by her husband, Douglas of Jasper; children, Rochelle Van Daalen and her husband Thomas of Dell Rapids, South Dakota and Mark Seeman of Garretson, South Dakota; grandchildren, Tina Van Daalen (Tayne Reurink) and Crystal Jensen (Colten); great-granddaughters, Sarina Van Daalen and Madison Bailey; and her brother, Douglas (Dorothy) Adkins of Fountain Hills, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials in Ramona's name may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association South Dakota Chapter.
