Renée Quist

Renée Alice Quist was born on April 2, 1929 to William and Caroline Frost in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in Omaha and moved to a farm between Ruthton and Tyler, Minnesota at the age of 12. She attended school in Ruthton, Minnesota. She married Gerald G. Quist on November 10, 1945. They lived in the Ruthton area before moving to Rockford, Illinois for approximately three years. They then moved to Pipestone, Minnesota. They were blessed with six children: Gary, Bradley, Allan, Scott, Sheila and John. She passed away peacefully in her home on November 1, 2023, at the age of 94 years, six months and 29 days.

Renée was a member of Peace United Methodist Church. She was active in United Methodist Women’s circle and Pipestone County Extension. She enjoyed the neighborhood birthday coffees held throughout the year. She was known for her beautiful flower garden and exquisite penmanship. She enjoyed cooking, baking and caring for her family.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Helen) of Marshall, Minnesota and their children Todd, Ryan and Kelly; Bradley (Vicki) of Pickerel Lake in Ottertail County, Minnesota and their children Brian and Neal; Allan (Lynette) of Apple Valley, Minnesota and their children Jennifer, Nathan, Amy and Kathryn; Scott (LeAnn) of Pipestone, and their children Billy, Joel and Greg; Sheila (Todd) Smallfield of Marshall, and their children Justin, Jesse and Sarah; John (Sherri) of Minnetonka, Minnesota and their children Megan, Rachel and Faith; 36 great-grandchildren (one more expected in 2024); and two great-great-grandchildren (one more expected in 2024). She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; sister, June and brother-in-law, Floyd Johnson; brother, Roger and sister-in-law, Jane Frost; and her parents, William and Caroline Frost.
