REX JOSEPH BOGSTAD was born on June 5, 1968 to Ronald and Jane (Tomblin) Bogstad in Lake Preston, South Dakota. He was raised in Willow Lake, South Dakota and attended school there as well. In 1992 he moved to Pipestone and worked at Bayliner and then at Suzlon. For five years he lived in Iowa and worked on a Carnival with his friend, Dean McDermatt. Then he came back to Pipestone and worked for Roger Rosendahl and also Ken Christensen. After a time, he moved back to Lake Preston, and worked for his cousin, Brady Larsen. He passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the age of 49 years, 10 months, and six days.
Rex was a happy person who loved to go hunting, fishing, and trapping. He was in heaven with a gun in his hand. He was a helpful person who always went out of his way to be somebody’s friend.
Rex is lovingly remembered by his mother, Jane Bogstad of Pipestone; one sister, Robin Ahrens of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and her children, Robert Bogstad and Brandy and Heather Meyer; one brother, Ronald (Teri) Bogstad of Hatfield, Minnesota and his children, Shanda, Shayla, RJ, and Taryn Bogstad; and many loving cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
