Richard Henry Loger

June 30, 1948 — May 6, 2019

RICHARD HENRY LOGER was born on June 30, 1948 to Henry and Edna (Kruger) Loger at the Pipestone County Medical Center in Pipestone, Minnesota. Richard grew up on the family farm west of Woodstock, Minnesota. He attended country school and then attended school in Pipestone, graduating from high school in 1967. Following his graduation, Richard attended vocational school at Minnesota West for automobile mechanics. Upon completion of his education, he lived in Aberdeen and Huron, South Dakota. He later moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he owned two different auto shops. He also lived in Arizona for a time. He then moved to Florida and on July 23, 1985, he married Margaret Olds in Punta Gorde, Florida. After their marriage, they moved to Ozark, Arkansas where Rick was born. In 1987, they moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota and bought a home in Marble, Minnesota and lived there until 1991 when they moved to Pipestone. Richard worked in Marshall and then at Pipestone Ford and later at M & M doing auto work. He then took a trucking class at Minnesota West and trucked for a short time. He then began working at Flandreau Motors in Flandreau, South Dakota. While working in Flandreau, he was injured and after a year he retired. He enjoyed his time at home and worked on a few vehicles for friends and family during his spare time. After a 3 ½ year battle with cancer, he went to be with his Lord on Monday, May 6, 2019 after a short stay at the Pipestone County Medical Center. He died at the age of 70 years, 10 months and six days.
He was a member of Faith Community Church in Pipestone. He loved cars, especially old models. He liked to work on cars and going to car auctions, and every day he would drive through Whipple Auto and other lots to look at the vehicles. He loved animals and had a cat of his own. He enjoyed going to McDonalds for coffee. Margaret always appreciated when he saved her from spiders and bugs in their home. He had a contagious laugh and when he laughed, you would laugh with him. He really loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Richard is lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years, 9 months, and 13 days, Margaret Loger of Pipestone; four children, Lesa (Nathan) Hammond of Zion, Arkansas, Lori (Jeff) Frechette of Stayton, Oregon, Roberta (Steven Alleckson) Brown of Balaton, Minnesota and Rick (significant other, Dena Johnson) Loger of Jackson, Minnesota; ten grandchildren, Ian Hammond, Alexis Parker, Brianna and Robby Frechette, Dominic, Skylar and Carmen Brown, Adalyn and Aubree Loger, and Elliana Johnson; one brother, John Ryan, Sr. of Farmersville, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, David Ryan, Dale “Bud” Ryan and Charles Loger.
