Robert “Bob” Keith DeZeeuw was born on October 22, 1957 to Bernard and Blanche (Schei) DeZeeuw in Pipestone, Minnesota. While growing up, Bob attended Pipestone High School, graduating in 1976. He furthered his education by attending St. Cloud Technical College, graduating in 1978 with a degree in Drafting and Design. Following his college graduation, Bob lived in Chaska, Minnesota from 1981 until 1994. During his time in Chaska, he worked at Advanced Circuits as a drafter. It was also during this time that Bob married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Cindy Kor. The couple dated for nine years before getting married on September 5, 1981 at the St. James Lutheran Church in Holland, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two children, Shelby and Cole, and later on, the birth of three grandchildren, Bryer, Aria and Aubri.
In 1994, Bob and Cindy settled down in Holland. Bob worked for K & T Trucking from 1994 until 2005, when he then worked for Twin City Fan in Elkton, South Dakota until he retired in 2024. He was a dedicated, hard worker and he deeply valued his relationships with his family and friends. Bob was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Holland. One of Bob’s biggest loves in life was camping. His second home was at his camper at his and Cindy’s seasonal spot at Norwegian Creek in Lake Benton, Minnesota. He was famous for his campfires – he would build a fire and the people would come! Bob had the type of personality that people just gravitate towards, everyone felt at ease around him. His approach to life was so easy going, Bob was always doing Bob things. When he wasn’t camping or working, he could be found either tinkering in his garage, enjoying a cold Busch Light, or hanging out with his favorite dogs, especially his grand dog, Benny. Papa Bob loved being around children, he loved handing out Tootsie Rolls to the kids at the lake, but above all, he loved spending time with Bryer, Aria and Aubri – always giving them “treats”. Bob was recently diagnosed with bladder cancer, which he fought fiercely against; persevering through each and every obstacle with strength and faith. Bob passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the Pipestone County Medical Center on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the age of 67 years, two months and 21 days.
Bob is lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Cindy DeZeeuw of Holland, Minnesota; children, Shelby (Chris) Evans of Pipestone, Minnesota and Cole (Carly) DeZeeuw of Pipestone; grandchildren, Bryer Evans, Aria DeZeeuw, and Aubri DeZeeuw; sibling, Mike (Jolene) Erickson of Holland; brothers-in-law, Randy (Mary) Kor, Greg Kor, and Brad (Jo) Kor; his mother-in-law, Margret Kor; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Blanche DeZeeuw; siblings, Leona (Cookie) Bergan, Carmen Wells, and Bill DeZeeuw; and his father-in-law, Darvin Kor.
Bob's family request that all attendees to his visitation wear Vikings apparel.
