RONALD PFANTZ was born to Clarence and Martha (Brummer) Pfantz on July 21, 1917 on a farm one mile from State Center, Iowa. When he was two years old, he moved with his family to a farm one mile north of Cazenovia, Minnesota where he attended country school. He then attended high school in Pipestone, Minnesota. After his graduation from Pipestone High School in 1934, he worked on the family farm. He actively farmed until his retirement in 2004. Even after his retirement, he loved helping bring in the crops in the fall. On Tuesday, January 17, 2011, Ronald died at the Pipestone County Hospice House at the age of 94 years, five months and 26 days.
Ronald was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. He was baptized as an infant in State Center, Iowa, and he was confirmed later in life at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. He enjoyed fishing when he had the time. Farming, however, was his life, and he enjoyed working on his 640-acre farm.
He is lovingly remembered by his two brothers, Vayne Pfantz and his wife, Peggy of Maitland, Florida, and Earl Pfantz and his wife Martha of Orlando, Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Arlene Davis.
