Ronald Steele

RONALD EUGENE STEELE was born on October 16, 1940 to William and Margaret (Spoelstra) Steele in Pipestone, MN. The family lived in Pipestone and Ronald attended grade school and high school there. After completing his education, Ron moved around and lived in many different places. He helped his dad with the trucking company, worked with his brother Roger at Mankato Tent and Awning, and also worked for Campbell’s in Worthington, MN. While working in Worthington, he met Janet Noeremberg and the two were united in marriage. This union was blessed with one son, Ricky. Ronald held various jobs and retired from his custodian position at the Royal River Casino in Flandreau, SD around 2002. For a short time, he lived in Florida but returned to the Pipestone area where he resided until he passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Pipestone County Hospice House at the age of 76 years, one month, and 15 days.

In his spare time, Ronald enjoyed metal detecting, collecting coins, traveling, and going to the casino. He will be remembered for his sharp looking hair style; there was never a hair out of place.

Ronald is lovingly remembered by his children, Rick (Heather) Steele of Brewster, MN, Joany (Dale) Rollag of Sioux Falls, SD, David (Denise) Steele of Verdi, MN, and Wayne (Kim) Steele of Verdi, MN; special friend, Dawn Nielsen and her son, Nathan, of Pipestone; 14 grandchildren, Randy, Taylor, Devon, Jennifer, Jeffery, Jessica, Justin, Casey, Miranda, Michael, Bradley, Brett, Brittney and Brianna; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Daryl Steele of Pipestone; and many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marlys (Wilfred) Hafner, and Janice (Jake) Jacobson; and one brother, Roger Steele.
