Rose Totman

Rose Marie Totman...

was born on January 11, 1942 in Watertown, South Dakota to Earl and Daisy (Eblen) Snyder. She was raised in Watertown and Alexandria, Minnesota where she received her education. On September 19, 1959, Rose was united in marriage to Russell Gardner in Alexandria. Following their marriage, they made their home in Starbuck, Minnesota where they raised their family until 1970 when they moved to Minot, North Dakota. In 1985, after their children were grown and married, Rose and Russell moved to Mesa, Arizona. Russell preceded her in death in 1986. After his death, she continued to live in Mesa where she owned and operated her own cleaning business. Soon after, at Marshall’s USA, a supper club in Mesa, Rose met Gerald Totman. They were united in marriage on June 20, 1987 and made their home in Tempe, Arizona. In March of 2007, they moved to Pipestone, Minnesota, Gerald’s hometown, where they enjoyed their retirement. They made trips back to Arizona until Rose’s health declined. On December 13, 2014, Rose moved into Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone where she died on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the age of 73 years and seven days.

Rose enjoyed riding motorcycle with Gerald, dancing, playing cards and planning and hosting her annual Christmas party. She loved spending time with her family.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Gerald Totman of Pipestone; her children, Lauri (Doug) Fortune of Pipestone, Mark (Nancy) Gardner of Munds Park, Arizona, Jerry Lee Totman, Samuel Totman, and Timothy (Judy Wiese) Totman, all of Pipestone and Tonia Phenghonh of Bonnau, South Carolina; 10 grandchildren, Lyndsie, Stacey, Samantha, Miranda, Kirsten, Tom, Tim, Tiffany, Trinity and Tabitha; 11 great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Rusty. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Russell; step-son, Thomas Totman; her parents; and two brothers, Douglas and Richard.
