RUTH ELAINE JOHNSON was born on January 27, 1944, to Thomas and Margaret (Beers) Scotting in Lake Wilson, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist church in Ruthton, Minnesota and attended school here as well. For the majority of Ruth’s career, she worked in various food service positions and truly loved her work. Ruth and Raymond also owned and operated a restaurant in town for over 20 years. On April 5, 1968, Ruth was united in marriage to Raymond Johnson at Bethany Elim Lutheran Church in Ivanhoe, Minnesota. The two made their home in Ivanhoe, Minnesota where Ruth passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at the age of 75 years, eight months, and two days.
Ruth was a member of the Country Church in Ruthton. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and baking. Ruth had an affinity for animals, especially horses and cats. Her family and friends were especially dear to her. She will be greatly missed.
She will be remembered by her husband, Raymond Johnson of Ivanhoe; children, Carla (John) Lupkes of Marshall, Minnesota, Connie Drietz (Dan Mamer) of Minneota, Minnesota, Carmen Kulla of Montevideo, Minnesota, Myron (Ann) Johnson of Ivanhoe, and Michelle (Ty) Stolp of Wood Lake, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren, Kelly and Cory Lietz, Devin (Ashley) and Damian (Kelsey) Drietz, Preston Rochel, Karina Tykwinski, Kyle (Amanda) Kulla, Raymond, Rolland, Jacob (Irania) and Joseph Johnson, Zac and Morgan Thorkelson, and Cierra Stolp; 15 great-grandchildren, Christian, Caidence, Kinslee, Lincoln, Ramsey, Jackson, Hunter, Jayce, Gracelyn, Teagan, Brinley, Sutton, Payten, Evelyn, and a baby boy on the way; siblings, Sid (Cathy) Scotting of Watertown, South Dakota, Lloyd (Mary) Scotting of Florida, Bessie Lingen of Tyler, Minnesota, Fran (Rich) DeRuyter of Ruthton, Minnesota, Cindy (Pat) Engbarth of Ruthton, Minnesota, and Ethel Tenhove of Pipestone, Minnesota; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Grace (Herb) Baumgard, and Pearl (Dale) Hibma; brothers-in-law, Vaughn Lingen and Joe Tenhove; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family interment will be held.
