Ruth Gamber

RUTH GAMBER was born on July 29, 1924. Ruth Lived in Pipestone for nearly 70 years and was very active at the 1st Baptist Church singing in the choir and working with the church's women's groups. She managed an in-home daycare for many years and later in life she found that painting brought her a great deal of joy. Ruth eventually painted over 1,000 pictures in her lifetime. Donald and Ruth were also emergency and long term foster parents to many children for over 10 years while living in Pipestone. For nearly twenty years Ruth lived in Apple Valley, MN. Ruth passed away on October 30, 2013 at the age of 89 years, three months, and one day.

Funeral services for Ruth were held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Apple Valley Baptist Church in Apple Valley, MN with a visitation one hour prior.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; four brothers and a sister-in-law; Howard & (Geraldine), Cecil, Ralph and Francis McDaniel. Ruth is survived by her son, Spencer (Elizabeth); her daughter, Mary (Tom) Sherman; six grandchildren, Brandon, Ethan and Lauren Gamber, Alex, David and Maria Sherman; a sister, Julene (Dean) Swanson; a brother, Ronald (Louise) McDaniel; two sisters-in law, June and Shirley McDaniel; nieces, nephews and many friends.
