Sharon L. Bobendrier

SHARON L. BOBENDRIER was born on March 23, 1940 to Richard and Enga Michel in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. She was raised and received her education through high school. She then moved to Illinois and worked various jobs, including secretarial duties in sales management. She was married and blessed with three children, Jeff, Todd and Donna. The couple later divorced. In 1975, she met James Bobendrier and on June 30, 1976 the two were united in marriage in Mundelein, Illinois. She was blessed in adding Jim’s son, Michael, to their family. In 1980, Sharon and Jim moved to Waukegan, Illinois. Here, Sharon helped Jim with his charter fishing boat business on Lake Michigan. In 2004, Sharon and Jim formally retired and moved to Jasper, Minnesota. On Wednesday, August 8, 2018, Sharon was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which had metastasized throughout her body. On Friday, August 17, 2018 Sharon died peacefully surrounded by her family at the Pipestone County Hospice House in Pipestone, Minnesota at the age of 78 years, four months and 24 days.

Sharon was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and recently, St. Leo Catholic Church in Pipestone. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking. Later in life, she took up playing cards, particularly the game of mahjong. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, speaking direct and to the point, and keeping her great humor throughout life. She loved her grandson and was very proud of him. Her spirit will be missed, but continue to live well in the hearts of many.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Jim; three children, Todd (Lorraine) Larson of San Antonio, Texas, Donna Larson (Eddie Bettencourt) of Garretson, South Dakota, and Michael (Mary) Hoefferle of Madison, Wisconsin; grandson, Josh Meyer; two brothers, Jim Michel of Onalaska, Wisconsin and Richard Michel of Bolingbrook, Illinois; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeff; parents; three sisters, Virginia, Lois, and Mary; and two brothers, Terry and John.
