SHEILA RAE JOHNSON was born on October 4, 1962 to Darrell and Norma (Vander Wilt) Hein in Pipestone, Minnesota, where she was raised and attended school, graduating high school as part of the Class of 1981. She later took a job at Pipestone Livestock Auction Market, where she worked for more than 30 years. Her most recent job was with Outlaw Customs. She was a hard worker with a determined spirit that never took “No” for an answer. She loved her work and even more so the people that she came across in life. She never went anywhere without a story about a new friend she had met. On Wednesday, February 2, 2022, Sheila unexpectedly was flown to the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where she underwent heart surgery for an aortic dissection. On Saturday, February 5, 2022, she was taken to her heavenly home and reunited with her daughter Tiffany. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 59 years, four months and one day.
Sheila married Allan Johnson on April 26, 2002 and they made their home in Pipestone. She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time on the water at their lot on Lake Benton, attending the Sturgis motorcycle rally and had a special love for her many dogs through the years which currently included Harley, Bella, Bear and Riley. Sheila carried the nickname of “Turbo” as she was always on the go. She will always be remembered as that welcoming soul who opened her arms and heart to anyone.
