STANLEY WAYNE SABIE was born on April 27, 1952 to Curtis and Norma (Meyer) Sabie in Pipestone, Minnesota. He lived and attended school in Pipestone, graduating from Pipestone High School in 1970. After high school he attended one year at Concordia College in Moorhead. On September 25, 1982 he was united in marriage to Jeri Hess at St. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Flandreau, South Dakota and to this union two daughters were born. Throughout their time together the two worked for the Serie Fun Shows which was based out of Luverne, Minnesota and operated the West Inn Caf in Flandreau from 1982-1986. For several years Stan worked as a driver for UPS and around 2010 he moved to the Pipestone area. On Friday, September 30, 2016, Stan passed away peacefully at his home in Pipestone at the age of 64 years, five months, and three days.
Stan enjoyed being outdoors. He especially loved family vacations up north on the lakes of Minnesota, fishing trips to Canada, water skiing, or just boating around. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, and hunting with his beloved dog Nikki. His time spent on his farm near Flandreau was always fondly remembered. Stan had an entrepreneurial spirit and liked trying his hand at owning local businesses. Most of all, being a fun dad to his two daughters was the highlight of his life.
Stan is lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Kami (Jacob) Woldt and Kali Sabie both of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; brother, Curt (Camille) Sabie Jr. of Rochester, Minnesota; and sister, Teresa Strand of Big Lake, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curt and Norma; and one brother-in-law, Bruce Strand.
