STANLEY EUCLID ROLPH was born on June 18, 1940 to Lemuel W. and Blanche (Chatelle) Rolph in Luverne, Minnesota. He was raised in rural Hardwick, Minnesota and attended grade school in Hardwick. He graduated from the Luverne High School in 1958. On April 28, 1961 he was united in marriage to Rosemary Erickson at St. Leo Catholic Church in Pipestone, Minnesota. In the months immediately following their marriage they resided at the Mayfair Motel in Pipestone until they moved into their first home in October of that same year. They moved within Pipestone a few times throughout their lives together. In his early years Stan worked for Pan-O-Gold Bakery and then building modular structures for a time. In September of 1970, he started working for the Pipestone Vocational School. In June of 1973, he began working for both Bayliner Marine Inc. and Harvey Riffle Transport. In September of 1976, he began working as a custodian for Pipestone Public Schools where he stayed until his retirement on June 30, 2002. After his retirement Stan enjoyed travelling with Rosie. Stan passed away peacefully at his home in Pipestone on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the age of 77 years, nine months, and 29 days.
Stan was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church in Pipestone. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus for 57 years. Stan was known by all to be a hard-working man.
Stan is lovingly remembered by his wife, Rosie, of Pipestone; five children, David (Nita) Rolph of Pipestone, Paula (Tom) Darveaux of Pipestone, Elizabeth (Kjell) Turner of Windom, Minnesota, Christopher (Amy) Rolph of Brandon, South Dakota, and Benjamin Rolph of Hutchinson, Minnesota; eight grandchildren, Greg (friend, Crystal) Versteeg, Eric (Connie) Versteeg, Austin (Kaitlyn) Sasker, Lindsey Faaborg, Brian (April Sanchez) Turner, Jennifer Turner, and Tara and Paige Rolph; seven great-grandchildren, Kade and Ryker Versteeg, Kylan, Ayla, and Ariyah Sasker, and Corbyn and Camryn Faaborg; two sisters, Kathleen Sehr of Luverne, and Albertine Appel of Ivanhoe, Minnesota; one brother, Paul (Myrna) Rolph of Benson, Minnesota; and two sisters-in-law, Jeanetta Rolph of Adrian, Minnesota, and Marian Rolph of Lake City, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Kasemodel and June Kuske; two brothers, Philip and Jerome Rolph; and infant daughter, Pamela Jean.
