Steven Frick

January 31, 1947 — June 5, 2016

STEVEN W. FRICK was born on January 31, 1947 to Duane and Beverly (Mitchell) Frick in Pipestone, Minnesota. Steve was baptized and confirmed at the Peace United Methodist Church in Pipestone. He received his education at Pipestone High School, graduating with the class of 1965. After his graduation, he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he attended Technical College and received his degree in Printing. Upon Completion, he moved back to the family farm where he grew up outside of Pipestone. He took over as owner and operator of his father's bus route for the next 25 years.

On July 27, 1968, he was united in marriage to Patricia Bunker at Peace United Methodist Church in Pipestone. They made their home on the family farm where they raised their two children, Kory and Steph. Steve was a hard worker and spent many years working. He worked in printing at Nicollet Press, drove a fuel truck for Hicks Oil, and worked in the sales department for Star Printing. Towards the end of his working career, Steve returned to his most loved profession as a bus driver for Edgerton Christian Schools up until his retirement in 2012. After his retirement, Steve was the happiest spending time with his grandchildren and at the farm. In June of 2013, Steve was diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Esophageal Cancer. Steve fought and was blessed with an additional three years of time with family and friends. On June 2, 2016, he entered the care of Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he stayed until his death on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the age of 69 years.

Steve was a member of the Cornerstone Free Church in Pipestone, where he was a former drummer of the Praise Band. Steve enjoyed riding motorcycle, spending time with friends, and working around his farm. But most importantly, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren, to whom he was affectionately called “Grampy.”

Steve is lovingly remembered by his wife, Pat of Pipestone; children, Kory (Heather) Frick of Blaine, Minnesota and Stephanee (Brad) Goeken of Hugo, Minnesota; grandchildren, Samantha and Kole Frick of Blaine and Ryder and Piper Goeken of Hugo; siblings, Jim (Karen) Frick of Bemidji, Minnesota, Nancy (Wayne) Haapoja of Redwood Falls, Minnesota and Bob Frick of Alamogordo, New Mexico; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Beverly.
