Steven Harold Stelling

Steven Harold Stelling was born on April 13, 1949, to Harold and Leona Stelling in Pipestone, Minnesota.  Growing up in Jasper, Minnesota, Steven enjoyed playing football and pheasant hunting whenever he wasn't working on the farm to help the family. Steven was confirmed at age 13 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Minnesota.  He graduated in 1967 from Jasper High School.  After graduating, Steven worked in numerous labor fields in Jasper, Paynesville, Minnesota, and Pipestone, Minnesota before retiring in 2000.

Steven was a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion in Paynesville, Minnesota.  He could frequently be found fishing, camping, bowling, or playing cards with friends and family.  Steven had a great sense of humor and quick wit.  He was always ready with a comeback. Steven loved spending time with his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed visiting with staff and other residents of the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne while playing bingo.

On March 17, 2024, Steven passed away peacefully at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne, Minnesota at the age of 74.  

Steven is lovingly remembered by his children, Brian and Mary Jo (Hagemeyer) Stelling of Eden Valley, Minnesota, Todd Stelling of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Amanda Stelling of Pipestone, Minnesota; sister, Kathy Anderson of Peoria, Arizona; grandchildren, Sophia Stelling (8) and Liam Stelling (5); nieces and nephews, Tom and Linda Anderson, John and Kristina Anderson, and Lindsey Anderson. Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Leona (Detoy) Stelling; and many aunts and uncles.
