Susan Linn Januchowski was born to Joseph Edgar and Verna (Goff) Allen on June 19, 1948 in Glendale, California where she was raised and attended school. After she graduated from Hoover High School in Glendale in June, 1966, she became employed as a car hop at Bob’s Big Boy in Glendale. In 1970, she married Steven Snow in Glendale. Following their marriage, they lived in Glendale. When she and her husband divorced in 1971, she moved to Chicago, Illinois where she worked as a waitress. While living there, she met John Januchowski and they were married in 1974. Following their marriage, they moved to Elgin, Illinois, and Sue was employed as a waitress there. In 1980, she and John were divorced. At that time, she moved to Freeport, Illinois and continued to work as a waitress. In 1997, she moved to Lake Benton, Minnesota to be near her daughter. She moved to Pipestone in 1999. About a year ago she entered into the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Balaton where she passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2017 at the age of 69 years, five months, and 17 days.
Sue was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church in Pipestone. She enjoyed cooking, talking on the phone and working out at the Ewert Rec Center. She especially enjoyed spending her time reading the scriptures.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Tonia Goertz of Aurora, South Dakota; her son, Kenneth Januchowski of West Linn, Oregon; three grandchildren, Eric McCleskey, Jennae, and Breonna Goertz; and two great grandchildren Wakiyan Nagi McCleskey and Andrew Michael Opland. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Joe, Tom, and Bob; and three sisters, Muriel Sanders, Geneva Stoup and Betty Viereck.
A Private Family Service will be held.
