TANYA NICOLE STROH was born to Deborah Carlene (Deragisch) Emery and Larry Lynn Reverts on Sunday, August 23, 1981 in Luverne, Minnesota. It was here that she spent her childhood and where she attended grade school. As a young girl, Tanya enjoyed doing arts and crafts, working on her 4-H projects, and cheering on her siblings. She later transferred to Adrian High School where she participated in volleyball, golf, and did wrestling stats. When she wasn’t busy with school or sports, she could be found organizing and rearranging the house, baking treats to share with others, writing random notes and to do lists, and spending time with her family.
In the summer of 1999, Tanya unknowingly met her future husband, Michael David Stroh. The two soon began dating and with her infectious smile and famous dimples, he was hooked. The couple continued to date as Tanya finished her high school education and the two were engaged in 2002. In 2003, the couple made their home in a small, quaint house in Luverne and on September 4, 2004 the couple was united in marriage at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne, Minnesota.
Through her marriage to Mike, she was blessed to be the mother of two boys; Jacob Anders and Joshua Michael. Everything in Tanya’s life was centered around her children. She loved being a part of her boys’ life and doing everything with them. One of her favorite things to do with her children when they were little was bring donuts to their grandpa Dave each Saturday at the farm where they would later call their home in 2013. Tanya made it a priority to spend all her time with her family. She loved traveling to the Black Hills and the Alexandria, Minnesota area with them. She was a firm believer in having family suppers every night. Some of her most cherished memories include being the ‘wrestling mom’ sitting mat-side at wrestling meets, cheering from the sidelines at football games, and spending summers at baseball games where she would often be heard chanting ‘Woot-Woot” from the stands.
Following her graduation in 2000, Tanya began working in the call center at Citibank in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She successfully led multiple projects for the Quality Assurance team and worked with colleagues in the United States and globally. Through her hard work and determined spirit, she worked her way up in the company and became the Vice President of her division. She was recognized in 2018 with the Leaders in Excellence Award for her ability to make numerous significant contributions to the team.
The hard work, selflessness, and faith Tanya demonstrated could be seen in every area of her life. Her love of baseball led her to serve as the secretary of the Luverne Baseball Association. If she wasn’t spending time with her family, one could often find Tanya volunteering her time and energy with various organizations including: Kids Against Hunger, the Big Buddies program, the Backpack program, ringing bells at Christmas time for the Salvation Army, and for offering a helping hand wherever she could.
Tanya was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. She was an active member at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne, Minnesota where she taught Sunday School for many years. When things got tough, she would be the first one to drop what she was doing to offer a helping hand and remind you just how much Jesus loved you.
Tanya is survived by her husband, Mike; two sons, Jacob and Joshua; one daughter, Taylor Heck and friend, Zac Peters of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; granddaughter, Madison Fodness; parents, Debbie and Mark Emery and Larry Reverts, all of Luverne; four siblings, Traci Gyberg and friend, Tim Hieronimus of Adrian, Minnesota, Terri Baker of Luverne, Minnesota, Ben and wife, Misty Reverts of Elkhorn, Nebraska, and Cody and wife, Karissa Reverts of Adrian, Minnesota; four step-siblings, Sandi Emery, Joe Emery, Jaydee Emery, and Tammi Jo Van Heerde; mother-in-law, Judy Stroh of Luverne; and her many nieces and nephews.
