Taylor LaRae Stratton was born on March 9, 1995 to James and Jennifer (Rust) Stratton in Luverne, Minnesota. She was raised with her family in Luverne. Taylor attended Luverne Public Schools where she participated in volleyball, track, golf and sang in the school choir. During her junior year of high school, she fell in love with a boy from the neighboring town, Nick Kellen. Taylor graduated with the class of 2013. Following school, she worked various jobs including waitressing at the Luverne Country Club and was employed as a youth counselor for Southwest Youth Services in Magnolia, Minnesota. On April 22, 2014, Taylor and Nick welcomed their sweet baby boy, Dominic, into the world. The young family made their home in Adrian, Minnesota. On February 3, 2019, Taylor went to be with family and friends in Heaven at the age of 23 years, 10 months and 24 days.
Taylor loved to make people laugh. She would tell dumb jokes and then use her infectious laugh to make them funny. She was the socialite of their family. Taylor knew everybody and if she just met you, you would be friends with her by the end of the night. She had a talent for art, especially painting, and enjoyed doing art projects with Dominic. Taylor loved to shop and spend money, watch scary movies, sing karaoke, go four wheeling, golf and help Nick in the hog barn. You could often find her and her Mom enjoying a walk together on the country roads. Most of all Taylor loved her son. She will be remembered for the joy she brought to many in this world.
Taylor is survived by her love, Nick Kellen, and their son, Dominic of Adrian; parents, James and Jennifer Stratton of Luverne; siblings, Britton (Anna) Stratton of Plymouth, MN, Bailey (Cody) Penning of Magnolia, and Logan Stratton of Luverne; maternal grandparents, Jim and Gail Rust of Magnolia; paternal grandmother, Janice Stratton of Luverne; maternal great-grandfather, LeRoy Rust of Luverne; her dog, Roxy; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Jerry Stratton; great-grandparents, Don and Janice Knips; great-grandmothers, Edwina Rust and Darlene McCreary and great aunt Patti McAvoy.
