Timothy "Tim" Allen Labrune

TIMOTHY 'TIM' ALLEN LABRUNE…

Was born on June 28, 1950 to Donald and Dorothy (Kotchian) LaBrune in Pipestone, Minnesota. He attended both grade school and high school in Ruthton, Minnesota, graduating with the class of 1969. He took one year of carpenter training at the Pipestone Vocational School after high school. On October 3, 1971 he was united in marriage to Joyce Barke at St. Martin Catholic Church in Woodstock. The family lived and farmed at several locations in Aetna Township, settling at their current home in 1991. In November of 2013, Tim was diagnosed with a glioblastoma. After the time he was diagnosed he lived his life to the fullest, taking day trips and enjoying life. On Wednesday, August 19, 2015, Tim passed away peacefully at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 65 years, one month, and 21 days.

Tim had many passions in life. He enjoyed muscle cars, drag racing, four wheeling, and any way to go fast and make some noise. He liked his rock and roll loud too; he and Joyce had attended a Def Leppard concert in Sioux Falls just two Saturdays ago. Woodworking was another pastime that Tim enjoyed; making oak furniture and spending lots of time in the shop with his kids in years past. He and Joyce loved their trips to Mexico, or going out for supper with friends. For any who rode in Tim’s truck it was evident that he drank a few McDonald’s mochas or coffees in his time. His much loved dog, Maddie will miss him and miss his shared ice cream cones. Tim was a farmer at heart and it was said that his blood ran John Deere green. Most of all, Tim enjoyed his family and the many times he shared with them.

Tim is lovingly remembered by his wife, Joyce, of Holland; his four children, Heather (Clint) Donley of Ellsworth, Kansas, Sarah (Nate) Anderson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Adam (Gretchen) of Holland, and Ryan (Stephanie) of Holland; his mother, Dorothy LaBrune of Holland; 12 grandchildren, Will, Jodi, Michala and Kit Donley, Hope, Anna and Sydney Anderson, Autumn, Summer and Ben LaBrune, and Danica and Lincoln LaBrune; and five sisters, Barb Anderson of Sioux Falls, Sue (Dave) Schaff of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Diane Harding of Sioux Falls, Kathy LaBrune of Tyler, Minnesota, and Nancy (Larry) Deutsch of Beardsley, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald LaBrune in 2013.
