Todd Thomas Birkeland

TODD THOMAS BIRKELAND was born to Thomas and Alice (Sternberg) Birkeland on April 26, 1962 in Luverne, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. Todd attended school in Luverne, graduating with the class of 1980. He worked as a meat processor at Swift Company in Worthington for ten years and then the John Morrell & Company in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for sixteen years. Todd was married to Vicky Burnett for seven years. Todd loved his vintage sports cars, hunting and fishing, his dog Woodrow and his family.

On Thursday, August 9, 2012 Todd passed away at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 50 years, 3 months and 13 days.

He is survived by his mother, Alice Birkeland of Luverne; his siblings, Teresa Ziebarth and her husband Duane Hemme of Lakeville, MN, Melissa Lage and her husband Pat of Audubon, MN, Terry Birkeland and his wife Tori of Prior Lake, MN, and Tim Birkeland and his wife Lisa also of Prior Lake; and three nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Birkeland.
