Wade C. Brooks

WADE CHARLES BROOKS was born on August 25, 1958 in Luverne, Minnesota to Charley and Delores (Ponivieskie) Brooks. He grew up in Luverne where he attended school, graduating from Luverne High School in 1977. He was baptized in the early 1970’s as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Wade’s faith was very important to him. He dedicated himself to the United States Branch of Jehovah’s Witnesses in his early years. He became an auxiliary pioneer in 1976. During the years of 1977 through 1979, he was a full time minister as a regular pioneer. He volunteered at the Brooklyn Bethel in New York from 1979-1981 at the Watchtower Farm in upstate New York from 1981-1986, and lived in Milford Pennsylvania from 1987-1988. He then returned home to his roots, finding a home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He worked various jobs at Sunshine Foods and Sam’s Club in Sioux Falls before taking a job with his brother, Owen. He enjoyed working alongside his brother in construction for many years. On October 5, 2015, Wade died as a result of an accident at the age of 57 years, 1 month and 11 days.

Wade enjoyed playing cards with his family on weekends. His greatest joy in life was being an Uncle. He had a special bond with his nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Whenever the kids had an event, Uncle Wade would be there supporting them. He loved going places with them and did anything he could to help them out. He loved them and they loved him back just as much.

Wade will be remembered by his mother, Delores Brooks of Luverne; siblings, Elissa Brooks of Luverne, Owen (Vicki Burger) Brooks of Sioux Falls, Lorna Brooks of Luverne; nieces and nephews, Ashley Skatvold, Whitney Brooks, Hunter Brooks, Ryder Brooks and Harper Brooks, all of Sioux Falls; great-nieces and great-nephew, Riley Peltier, Austin Peltier, Ava Skatvold and Lexii Baxter; and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charley Brooks; and his brother, Arthur Brooks.
