WESLEY LELAND LANDGREN...
was born on October 4, 1934 to Levi and Anna (Landgren) Landgren on the family farm in Altona Township, Pipestone, Minnesota. He was raised there and attended country school in District 36 and attended Verdi High School, graduating in 1954. Upon completion of his education he joined his father working on the farm. Following his father’s death in 1955, Wesley and his brothers continued to operate the farm. On February 4, 1957, Wesley joined the Army National Guard of Minnesota, Combat Support Company, 3 BG 135th INF in Pipestone, Minnesota. In 1963, the brothers sold the operation and began working for farmers in the Ward, South Dakota and Verdi, Minnesota areas until 2000 when he retired. In 2008, Wesley moved into assisted living in Elkton and in 2012 he moved to Brookings. In June of 2015, Wesley moved into the United Living Center in Brookings because his health began to decline. He entered into the Brookings Health System where he passed away on October 26, 2015 at the age of 81 years and 22 days.
In his spare time, Wesley enjoyed hunting, fishing, doing crossword and jumble puzzles, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy on TV.
Wesley is survived by several nieces and nephews. Wesley was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Gustie Gustafson, Alice Dahms, and Minnie Gustafson; and five brothers, Robert, Walter, Harold, Gus and Theodore Landgren.
